What to Do to Keep Bed Bugs Out of Your Bed

Bed bugs can be eliminated in one treatment. Contrary to what you may read, it is absolutely possible to eradicate an infestation of these parasitic monsters in one simple process that you can perform yourself.

Some of this information is packaged quite well. The national level associations are great at getting quotes out to municipalities and government institutions that will repeat their expert advice verbatim. Word for word - "according to experts, you must hire a professional to deal with bed bugs." You say something over and over again then it starts to become fact. Problem is this is not a fact.
Bed bugs are possibly the most difficult insects to get rid of. Although many believe cockroaches can last live through nuclear bombings, these insects seem just as resilient. You can't just place traps for them like ants. You can't lay out poison for them like mice. the only way to get rid of bed bugs is to hire the professionals to chemically remove them. However, there are some steps you can take to reduce the amount of insects in your home:

  • Quarantine the area affected by the bugs. Try to make sure they don't start spreading to other areas of your home.
  • Vacuum your bed to suck out all of the bed bugs. When you remove the bag from the vacuum, make sure you throw it out in a secure place where the bugs won't get out.
  • Check all furniture in the quarantined room. Bed bugs like to hide in creases and creavices so make sure you empty all night stands and book shelves you may have.
  • Bag bedding and clothing and put them through a hot rinse cycle. You can also leave your bagged items out in the sun on a series of particularly hot days but washing with hot water is a faster method.
  • Cover to quarantined room in plastic. That means the mattress, your blankets and everything in between. Bed bugs can't burrow through plastic.
  • Taking these precautions can help minimize the time these insects will spend at your place. The other huge step you should take is to hire a pest control company. These companies understand how difficult and costly this event can be, which is why they often offer affordable pest removal and discounts for new and returning customers. They use safe and humane techniques to remove pests so that your health is not jeopardized.

You can treat for bed bugs yourself! You can get rid of bed bugs in one treatment! You do not need to hire a professional!

It is not necessary to use toxic, synthetic pesticides. In truth, a synthetic pesticide will lose effectiveness - hence the supposed 'need' for multiple treatments at the hands of pest control operators. The pest industry uses these man-made chemicals everyday and pests will become immune to their effect. So the choice is a stronger, more lethal synthetic pesticide. Not a good trend.

So not only are they losing effectiveness, but these colorless and odorless poisons sprayed into our homes, schools, and public spaces have these residual powers to kill bugs for up to three months. While this is promoted as a good thing, think about it. It means that we are absorbing, inhaling and ingesting these chemicals without even knowing it.

A synthetic pesticide is nothing more than a neuro-toxin which means it is a poison designed to affect the brain. And not just the brain of a pest - it also affects people. Ever wonder why ADHD, Autism, Asthma, etc. are at all time highs? We have the prevalence of these pesticides in our lives to thank for the increase in neuro-toxic ailments.

Using safe, natural products, bed bugs can be killed and even repelled. Natural products will never become resistant as they are biologically engineered from Nature to perform the job intended which is either kill or repel certain species of bugs. Great example is cedar - we have seen cedar used for centuries - closets, chests, siding, etc. against pests. Yet people and animals have no problem with cedar. And cedar works wonders on bed bugs. Bingo!

Do not heed the 'experts' self-serving advice. You can treat bed bugs yourself. You can eradicate bed bugs in one treatment. You do NOT need to hire a professional.
